We moved, as always. We came back home to where we grew up. it definitely wasn’t an easy decision. I’d been trying to get Oregon out of my veins for years. After graduating high school, my biggest concern was how to get out of my extremely small town and run. Well, now I’m back of my own choice.

This isn’t the first time I’ve come back with my family, but it’s the most permanent. I’ve pretty much decided to settle here, knowing well that I’m not going to be able to move across the country again unless it’s just me.

Oregon does have a lot of perks though. I’m pretty sure I’m going to enjoy that again. Lakes, rivers, mountains, trees, etc. There are lots of things to do here now that I’m back. Things I didn’t even think about previously, but now I do. Paddle boarding, floating, skiing, the list goes on and on. It’s green though, so I can’t complain. Better than where we moved from (Arizona, I’m looking at you.)

Currently, we’re right in the middle of the 5th and worst season; fire season. The smoke is thick, everything is covered in a layer of soot and it smells like you live in a fireplace, for 3 to 4 months. This is part of the reason we left in the first place. But, after living all over, I’ve come to realize, you take the good with the bad. Fall, my favorite season, is coming. Crisp cool air, fall colors and decor. Chilly weather. I’m looking forward to having another season, besides summer or fires.
